The developer behind Goat Simulator, DoubleMoose, has just announced a spiritual sequel titled Just Die Already, which promises to allow players to “embrace their inner boomer.” The title, which was announced alongside a hilarious trailer, will supposedly drop later this summer, with a demo supposedly coming to Steam “shortly.”

The trailer showcases exactly the kind of wacky gameplay that gave Goat Simulator its hilarious reputation, showing off tons of co-op and single-player content in which players assume the role of elderly pedestrians. Within the footage, the game shows off players falling down flights of stairs, swinging off ceiling fans, flying on comically sized rockets, using a gun that attaches powerful balloons to cars, and much, much more. It seems the game will also have a bigger emphasis on combat than Goat Simulator, with the trailer showing players taking on younger citizens in ragdoll-focused streets fights.
It seems there will be several other major mechanics to the game too, including one that sees players’ bodies lose limbs as they get into precarious situations. While some sequences show players without legs or arms, others show avatars missing both a torso and a head, as a pair of disembodied legs runs around the open world. Speaking to IGN, the game’s developers claim the title will see players journey around an open sandbox completing tasks in an effort to gain access to the “world’s nicest retirement home.” It’s described as “ridiculously gory and unpredictable physics-based sandbox game,” where players “wreak havoc on the Millennial and Zoomer population.”
The developer went on to claim, “it does feel a little weird introducing such a ridiculous, over-the-top sandbox game when the world is so grim at the moment. That said, maybe supergluing a rocket pack to the back of an octogenarian and sending him flying into a construction site just to see what happens is the type of escape we all need right now?” It’s no doubt a very on-brand next step for the minds behind Goat Simulator and looks to bring a lot of laughs when it drops later this year.
Just Die Already will be available this Summer on PC.
