Jump Force was released last year to middling reviews from critics, but the game has sloughed off that criticism, earned a devoted following, and continues to be supported through DLC. The 3D fighter pulls from the deep catalog of hugely popular manga featured in Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Fans looking to play as their favorite character from Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, or My Hero Academia get the chance to here. My Hero Academia is one of the most popular manga running, so it should come as no surprise that fans have already seen Katsuki Bakugo added to the roster.

Shoto Todoroki will be available on May 26th, but if players purchase the full Jump Force Character Pass 2 they will gain early access, unlocking Shoto on May 22nd. The pass will set players back $17.99 for all five DLC characters (including early access to each) or players can opt to buy characters individually at $3.99 a pop. Shoto is a great character to bring to the Jump Force arena, with his “Half-Cold Half Hot” quirk arming him with both ice and fire-based techniques. Spraying the ring with shards of ice and searing flames makes for a devastating one-two punch. Shoto stands to feature prominently in the 5th season of My Hero Academia.

Jump Force is just the latest in a long line of games that have brought together characters from the Weekly Shonen Jump world. Dating back to the days of the Famicom—with Famicom Jump: Heroes History—Shonen Jump heroes have been doing battle for years. Sometimes that reliance on, and reverence for, the history of Shonen Jump means that newer series don’t get a chance to feature in a Jump game. Fans would like to see characters in up and coming titles like Demon Slayer get their due.

As these characters continue to roll out, news of a Switch release of Jump Force is making the rounds. A “Deluxe Edition” of the game is on the way that will include all of the DLC characters. With such a stacked roster, having them all at once might be worth the wait.

Jump Force is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One with a Switch version coming soon.
