According to Japanese magazine V-Jump, Prometheus will be added as part of a free update at some point during the fall season. This isn’t that surprising, as Jump Force’s two original villains - Kane and Galena - were also added for free back in July. At the moment, there’s no other info, so we don’t know if Prometheus will be toned down slightly in order to make him more balanced or if players will be able to take advantage of the full power he demonstrated in his boss fight. Prometheus won’t be the last character, however, as there are still four more characters confirmed as DLC that have yet to be added - Trafalgar Law from One Piece, Toshiro Hitsugaya and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez from Bleach, and Madara Uchiha from Naruto.

While Jump Force may not have fared well critically and was a source of mockery on social media due to its stiff presentation and awkward cutscenes, there’s no denying that it is still a popular title, allowing manga and anime fans to have their favorite heroes and villains take part in dream match-ups. Back in April, the NPD listed it as one of the best-selling games of 2019 so far, with it even beating out Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

However, this new info risks being drowned out by Bandai Namco’s other recent announcements regarding Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the action-RPG that adapts the anime series. Only the other day, the publisher revealed a bunch of new details, including the fact that the game would continue past Frieza and cover the Android and Cell Sagas and even introduce completely new story elements; specifically, an original plot involving Gohan and Android 16, which will most likely further flesh out their relationship.

Jump Force is available right now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
