Head to the New York Times Games Wordle website. Choose a starting word. It needs to be five letters long, a real English word, and not one of the many offensive words removed by the newspaper when it purchased Wordle. Starting words should also be American spellings of words and should contain several letters common to Wordle puzzles. Type the chosen starting word into the Wordle website and press enter. The letters will then change colors, giving players more clues to the answer. Green letters are right, gray are wrong, and yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word. With these hints, players type in another word, and those letters will also change color. This continues until the players run out of their total six tries There is only one puzzle per day, and that puzzle resets at midnight local time. After the game is complete, the Wordle menu will appear. This contains stats and the spoiler-free share button that copies just the colors of the squares from a player’s completed board. Stats include things like win streaks, total wins, and total puzzles that have been played on that device and browser.
