The first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, like the manga, was an instant massive hit. The story of Yuji Itadori aired from October 2020 to March 2021. This year the fans had a chance to see the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, an the adaption of the manga of the same name that serves as a prequel to the main story. The movie premiered first in Japan during 2021 Christmas and in March for the rest of the world, and it became one of the most successful anime box office performances in recent history.

An exact date hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is confirmed that the window for the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is July 2023. It will air continuously for half a year, until the end of 2023, and cover two entire Arcs of the manga, the Hidden Inventory Premature Death Arc, and the Shibuya Incident Arc. As shown in the 1-minute teaser, it will go deeper into Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto as students and their relationship, something that was already a subject in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. All the main cast will return and MAPPA is also working on the animation again, some of the various aspects that excelled in the first 24-episode season.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga created by Genge Akutami started its run in 2018 and is ongoing. A letter by Akutami read by Nobunaga Shimazaki during the Jump Festa event hinted at something ending in the next year, which could be an arc of the manga, the manga itself, or something completely different.

The series published by Shueisha and Viz Media in the English version is already one of the top sellers of all time with over 70 million copies in circulation. Regarding the anime adaptation, both the film and Season 1 are available to watch on Crunchyroll, where it will also simulcast the next season.
